Our Team
Scott McChesney
Owner/principal broker Scott McChesney has been a licensed real estate agent for over 30 years and has achieved ‘Best of Zillow’ status; rated by buyers and sellers in our area in the top 10% of all Premier Agents. Scott is one of the top 2 agents based out of the entire Manchester/ Dorset, Rupert, Pawlet area in number of properties sold. He decided to follow in his father's footsteps after earning his BA in Spanish and Economics from Hobart College in Geneva, NY, and working for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. He plays an active role in the community and proudly supports various local committees and organizations: Mettawee Community School; Pawlet Public Library; Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department; Bennington County Habitat for Humanity; and Pawlet Community Church. Scott was a parent volunteer and school coach for 20 years and is currently serving his third term on the Mettawee School District School Board. He is a father of four. He and his wife, Phoebe, live with their two children in Pawlet where they enjoy outdoor activities together.
Robin Chesnut-Tangerman
Robin joined the sales team in July of 2020. Robin holds a BA from Hamilton College and offers a great depth of building knowledge with decades of experience in the carpentry business, and most recently as a licensed building inspector. His local knowledge and connections are extensive in his fourth term as Representative in the Vermont Legislature for the towns of Middletown Springs, Pawlet, Rupert, Tinmouth, and Wells. Robin and his wife Melissa live in Middletown Springs where they raised their two daughters and built an energy-efficient home.
Deborah Mackey
Office Manager, Deborah Mackey joined the McChesney Real Estate team in the spring of 2020. She earned her degree from Green Mountain College and has lived in nearby Poultney Vermont for over 40 years. Deb brings a wealth of administrative experience having worked at Green Mountain College for over fifteen years in the role of Administrative Assistant to many departments. She lives in Poultney with her husband Dan in a home they built together.

Our Founder
Lee McChesney
Founder Lee McChesney was a licensed real estate broker for over 50 years. He began his career in real estate in 1971 after he and his wife Marion and their two sons, Scott and Mark, moved to Vermont. Lee was named Realtor of the Year in 1979 while serving as president of the South Central Board of Realtors, and performed as state director of the Vermont Association of Realtors for many years. He graduated top ten in his class at Fort Schuyler Merchant Marine College with a BS in Economics and Marine Transport. A veteran of the US Navy, he was stationed in Hawaii the year it became a state (1959) and retired as full commander.
